My Top 3 Health Tips
As an online personal trainer, I get asked all the time about tips and tricks to get healthier. While we all know this doesn’t happen overnight, there are some healthy habits you can begin to practice that will end up making a huge difference in your life. Here are my top 3 health tips that I know will help you!
Exercise, most days, for at least 20-30 minutes. This is #1! I tell my clients this all the time - get out and do something. Does it have to be the best workout of your life? No! Does it have to be the most intense workout of your life? No! Does it have to be something that gets your heart rate up a bit, makes you sweat a little, and bonus, lets you breathe fresh air? Yes! Sometimes we adopt this “all or nothing” principle - we must have the time and energy to have an amazing workout in order for it “to count”. But, that’s not true. Just giving your body some form of exercise is beneficial. If you need help with this, contact me to set up your free workout!
Eat well, but not all the time. I began reading health and wellness books when I was a freshman in high school. In one of these books, the author explained how important vacation is. We take vacations in order for our brains and bodies to take a break and then we come back to work more relaxed and rested, creating more efficient work. Bottom line, vacations are necessary. The author also said that you have to have “vacation meals”. Meals that are fun, relaxed, and out of your normal routine. While healthy eating is important most of the time, take a couple vacation meals a week too!
A little cute goes a long way. A cute outfit that is! I find that if I add in just a little extra effort in my workout outfit, I feel really good! And oftentimes, that leads to a great workout. I love these high waisted leggings from Aerie and this crop top from Fabletics. I love these brands because they are high quality, the material is super soft, and affordable. Target is great for sports bras and I love any Nike tennis shoes. It’s also important to me to wear things that fit me well, have a pop of color or a fun print, and are at the price point I am willing to spend. Putting in that extra little effort into your outfit can make a big difference in your workout!
